It’s truly the end of an era here at The Mill Shopping Centre as we say goodbye to a familiar face and a much-loved part of our community. After 30 years in The Mill, Michael McLoughlin of McLoughlin Butchers has hung up his apron and is heading into a well-earned retirement.

Mick has been with us since the very beginning, and his warm welcome, friendly chats, and top-class butchery have made McLoughlin Butchers a favourite stop for so many. Today, we marked this special milestone with a heartfelt sing-along led by RAMS In Rhythm to celebrate Mick’s retirement.

Tomorrow, the shutters will come down for the final time as Mick and his team close the doors of McLoughlin Butchers. While he will be sorely missed by all of us here at The Mill – and especially by his loyal regulars – we couldn’t be happier to see him set off to enjoy his retirement dream.

We invite you to pop in, say your goodbyes, and wish Mick and the team all the best as they move on to this next chapter. Thank you, Mick, for 30 wonderful years – you’ll always be part of The Mill family.

The Mill Shopping Centre, Clondalkin, is thrilled to announce an extraordinary addition to our iconic shopping destination. In a remarkable cultural partnership, we are bringing the legendary windmill sails from the world-famous Moulin Rouge in Paris to Clondalkin.

Following the unexpected collapse of the historic windmill sails at the famed cabaret venue in Paris, management at the popular Clondalkin shopping centre saw an incredible opportunity to honour Clondalkin’s mill heritage by giving these legendary sails a new home .

“We are beyond excited to share this news with our community,” said The Mill Shopping Centre manager. “The area has a rich mill history, and now, with this spectacular installation, we are blending local tradition with international charm.”

The windmill sails will be affixed to the facade of the shopping centre, creating a truly unique landmark for Clondalkin. Once in place, they will even rotate on windy days, giving visitors an authentic Moulin Rouge experience without the need for a plane ticket to Paris!

March 4th 2025 is pancake day and we can not wait! Who can resist the fluffy, tasty, lemon and sugar soaked taste of a fresh pancake? Noone, that’s who!

Whether you are celebrating pancake day at home, at work or school, here are our favourite pancake day recipes. We’ve included a recipe for easy classic pancakes, a recipe for protein-packed pancakes and even a gluten-free and dairy-free pancakes recipe.

Easy Classic Pancakes Recipe

This simple and traditional pancake recipe creates light and fluffy pancakes that are perfect for a pancake Tuesday - or, quite frankly, any day of the week.

Classic Pancake Ingredients:

125 grams plain flour (all purpose)
1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
230ml milk
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Classic Pancake Instructions:

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.
In a separate bowl, mix the milk, egg and vanilla extract.
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.
Ladle a potion of the batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown.

Protein Pancakes Recipe

If you're looking for a protein boost to fuel your day, these protein pancakes are a great option.

Protein Pancakes Ingredients:

50g rolled oats
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
120ml milk or almond milk
1 egg
1/2 mashed banana
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Protein Pancakes Instructions:

Blend the oats in a food processor or blender until they resemble flour.
In a mixing bowl, combine the blended oats, protein powder, baking powder, and cinnamon.
Stir in the milk, egg, mashed banana, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.
Pour the batter onto the skillet, using about 1/4 cup per pancake.
Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles appear on the surface, then flip and cook the other side.

Gluten Free and Dairy Free Pancakes Recipe

These pancakes are perfect for those with dietary restrictions, yet they are just as delicious as the traditional version.

Ingredients for Gluten Free and Dairy Free Pancakes:

1 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar or maple syrup
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup almond milk or oat milk
1 egg (or flax egg for vegan option)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions for Gluten Free and Dairy Free Pancakes:

In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, mix the almond milk, egg (or flax egg), melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract.
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and grease with coconut oil.
Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.

We’re excited to announce that Lloyds Pharmacy at The Mill Shopping Centre has officially rebranded as McCabes Pharmacy as part of a nationwide merger to create Ireland's largest pharmacy chain. Clondalkin, Dublin – September 13, 2024 — This week, we welcomed Phoenix Club House to raise awareness of their Green Ribbon Week Campaign and the services the offer in Clondalkin.

Each year, The Phoenix Club House in Clondalkin proudly participates in Green Ribbon Week, a nationwide campaign in Ireland dedicated to raising awareness about mental health. Running from September 15th to 21st, Green Ribbon Week aims to promote conversations about mental health and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

Green Ribbon Week

Green Ribbon Week is an annual awareness campaign in Ireland dedicated to promoting mental health and reducing the stigma associated with mental health issues. Held each September, the campaign is organised by See Change , a national organisation focused on changing attitudes towards mental health.

During Green Ribbon Week, participants and organisations across Ireland are encouraged to wear green ribbons to show support for mental health awareness and engage in conversations about mental well-being. The campaign includes various activities such as workshops, talks, and events aimed at educating the public about mental health, providing support, and fostering open dialogue.

The goal of Green Ribbon Week is to create a more supportive and understanding environment for individuals experiencing mental health challenges, promote mental health resources, and encourage people to seek help without fear of judgment.

The Phoenix Club House invites everyone in Clondalkin to join in the Green Ribbon Week activities and support the campaign. Together, we can make a difference in how we view and talk about mental health.

Monday to Wednesday, opening hours will be 8.30 am to 9pm - making every weekday a late-night shopping day.

Saturday opening hours stay the same, 8.30 am to 8pm

Sundays will also be extended, opening at the earlier time of 8.30am

We understand the importance of proper waste disposal, which is why we provide convenient onsite glass recycling. The glass recycling units at The Mill Shopping Centre are located on the west side of the carpark just past Crystal Clean Carwash.

Shopping centres can be a very confusing and daunting place for children therefore we ask that all minors under the age of 12 be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Responsible adult, parent or Carer? – Please keep an eye on any children or adults in your care.
The Mill Shopping Centre takes your safety and security very seriously. We will not allow intimidating, aggressive or derogatory behaviour of any kind towards other visitors, our staff or our retailers.
We welcome all fashion choices but, if you’re wearing something with a hood, please make sure it is down when inside The Mill Shopping Centre.
Motorcyclist crash helmets must be removed when visiting The Mill Shopping Centre.
Tops and footwear must be worn at all times, unless you’re in a changing room.
We are a smoke and vape free shopping centre so smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is strictly forbidden in The Mill Shopping Centre, unless in our external designated smoking areas. There are bins located in all of these areas and at the shopping centre entrances for your convenience.
Bikes, roller-blades, micro-scooters, skateboards, hover boards, Segway’s and Heelys (or similar) are not allowed in The Mill Shopping Centre. These are also not permitted in our external pedestrian walkways and entrances. The shopping centre has bike racks at the main entrance for your convenience.
Only guide dogs and assistance dogs are allowed in the shopping centre. All other animals be it domestic, exotic or a family pets are not.
We do not allow leafleting, canvassing or the conducting of third party interviews or surveys anywhere in The Mill Shopping Centre including all external areas within our demise, unless written permission has been granted from the The Mill Shopping Centre Management team.
No one likes a ‘litter bug’. Please dispose of your rubbish responsibly using the bins provided. There are also a number of recycling bins throughout the The Mill Shopping Centre and we would appreciate your support in helping the disposal of recyclables.
Please don’t run in the The Mill Shopping Centre – even if you’re in a hurry to snap up a bargain.
It’s against our rules to sell goods anywhere in the The Mill Shopping Centre including all external areas within our demise, unless our The Mill Shopping Centre Management team have given you permission.
Busking is not permitted in the The Mill Shopping Centre including all external areas within our demise, unless you have permission from the The Mill Shopping Centre Management Team.
The The Mill Shopping Centre supports many worthy charities and local community groups and with permission allows collections in the shopping centre. Unauthorised collections or begging is strictly prohibited.
For your safety and the safety of others, please don’t climb, stand or sit on balustrades, barriers, fencing or railings in and around the The Mill Shopping Centre including all external areas within our demise.
Whatever team you support or sport you follow, we don’t allow ball games of any kind in the The Mill Shopping Centre – kicking, throwing or otherwise.
Selfies are welcomed, but professional photography is only allowed if permission has been granted by the The Mill Shopping Centre Management Team.
Alcohol consumption including the carrying of open containers is not permitted in the The Mill Shopping Centre including all external areas within our demise unless within a licensed food outlet and within the rules governing it.
Any person either bringing, selling or taking any illegal substance, or drugs paraphernalia within the The Mill Shopping Centre will be reported to the Gardai immediately.
Criminal damage or vandalism against The Mill Shopping Centre or Tenants property, is illegal and will be reported to the Gardai immediately.
We reserve the right to deny entry to anyone whose actions we feel are unsuitable and may have a negative impact on other customers, our colleagues and retailers.

Anyone who doesn’t pay attention to these rules will be asked to leave the Centre.

The Mill Shopping Centre Management reserves the right to deny an individual or individuals’ entry to The Mill Shopping Centre and all external or other areas within its demise for any period of time as it may determine in its absolute discretion and has the right to escort any such individual or individuals from the site.
